Vintage Kalevala Bronze Bird of Tampere (Tampereen Lintu) Brooch Finnish Iron Age Design

This vintage piece was designed in the 1970s based off of old viking jewelry and named for the Finnish town of Tampere. The bird was a common motif in jewelry of viking times as for the ancient Finns, birds were symbols of luck and success. The Kalevala Bronze Bird of Tampere (Tampereen Lintu) Brooch is an example of Nordic design merged with ancient finnish culture.  Crafted in a brilliantly reflective bronze it measures about 35x50mm, it is perfect for scarves, shawls, jackets, or as a collectible piece of Finnish heritage. In excellent condition with only minor signs of wear.
