Wirkkala spent nearly a thousand hours working with the glassblowers at the Iittala Glass Factory to perfect the distinctive Ultima Thule texture. Inspired by melting Arctic ice, the pattern evolves naturally as molten glass burns into wooden moulds. This pitcher features the classic rounded base resting on three ice-peak points, giving the impression that it floats above the surface—an unmistakable hallmark of the original Ultima Thule design.

Created to commemorate Wirkkala’s 100th birthday, the 50 cl (16.9 oz) pitcher is perfect for serving cold drinks and brings a sculptural elegance to any setting.
