Iittala Hopla Pitcher 24 cm – Tapio Wirkkala (1970s)

Designed by Tapio Wirkkala in 1970, the Hopla pitcher is a striking example of Finnish glass design from Iittala’s golden era. Its tall, sculptural form and richly textured surface catch the light beautifully, giving the pitcher both visual depth and timeless elegance.

Originally produced by Iittala between 1970 and 1980, the clear Hopla glass series included a wide range of drinkware and serving pieces, all united by Wirkkala’s masterful use of texture and proportion. Tapio Wirkkala (1915–1985) is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Finnish design history. His glasswork, in particular, remains highly sought after for its innovation and sculptural quality.
