Designed by Oiva Toikka, the Long-Tailed Duck—known as Alli in Finnish—was produced from 1981 to 2009 as part of his beloved glass bird series. This example features the classic dark green body with a prominent golden luster, a particularly desirable variation.
This piece is signed O. Toikka Nuutajärvi II, indicating it was made during the early years of production at the Nuutajärvi Glass Village in Finland. The “II” marking is characteristic of earlier runs and is appreciated by collectors. Subtle variations in shape and coloration occurred throughout the production years, making each Alli unique.
Measures approximately 160mm in length and 115mm in height. Iittala sticker remains on the bottom.
